In 2016 I was awarded a two-week artist residency in Corris, North Wales at Stiwdio Maelor.
I didn't know what I'd paint there. In the end, it was the surrounding forests and lone trees that inspired me.
Oil paint mixed with cold wax was the right medium to convey the textural presence of trees against light and dark. The collection comprises over 30 paintings, most of which have sold. However, a few are still available.
