Lesley's Lucky Dip for Lockdown
#lesleysluckydip

LUCKY DIP PROJECT
November 3rd - December 2nd 2020
This was a fantastic opportunity to grab an original painting
by award-winning artist Lesley Birch - especially for lockdown

Lucky dips proved a popular pick-me-up
travelling as far afield as Denmark, Australia, Italy, Austria and Canada.

"I invented Lesley’s Lucky Dip for lockdown to keep my spirits up in the studio. Initially I started making Christmas cards for my family on watercolour postcard paper.  After that, I decided to continue these landscapes – keeping the brush moving, working with collage, ink and paint – they are states of mind paintings – all made for folks out there in this pandemic."     Lesley Birch 2020

My Lucky Dip Project has helped keep me sane during lockdown.  Every day on my walk to the studio, I passed a homeless man outside The Minster - as the weather became colder and wetter, his plight became more severe.  It's awful to see it in this day and age - in 2021.  Giving him some loose change or a cup of tea gives him some relief but it does not solve the problem.  The Lucky  Dip allowed me to donate to York Charity Peaseholme Charity who focus on helping the homeless in York - something I feel to be crucial in that desperation.
